28 Oct New Menu Launch
Autumn is here. That wonderful time of year where the roads transform into crisp, burnt orange walkways and the kids happily commit hours to that true British pastime: conker hunting.
Saying goodbye to bare legs and basking in the British sun, we now find ourselves faced with frisky breezes and spontaneous rain showers. With this change in weather and consequent shorter days and longer nights, we see taste buds and tummies transform. No longer do sprightly salads satisfy the stomach, we now find ourselves craving autumnal, warm and hearty foods – plus a hot toddy or two!
Eating seasonally is at the heart of Brew Cafe’s offerings, so with this in mind we have updated our menu to reflect and incorporate these Autumnal variations and most importantly pander to your palate hankerings.
On our Autumn menu you will find British vegetables playing a central role, with dishes such as cauliflower and black truffle soup, British ruby red beetroot and goats curd salad and carrot and quinoa falafels, packed with butternut squash and sweet potato.
Game and fish are always central players to the Brew Cafe menu, however this Autumn we have enhanced our menu with some bold dishes. Sustainably sourced hake and crab replaces the traditional cod in our fishcakes and fresh crumbed veal escalope is a new tastebud contender this year.
Internationally-inspired fare can be spotted throughout the menu, with highlights such as the Bengali eggplant and tofu salad featuring seasonal cavolo nero and roasted cauliflower, all piped up with a delicate cardamom dressing. Our chicken skewer has been given an oriental makeover, marinated in aromatic teriyaki spices and served with Asian greens and an accompanying Malaysian soup.
For those with an avid sweet tooth, we have added some new flavour combinations to our dessert jars. For chocoholics, there is the rich and decadent nutty mousse, which arrives sealed with a chocolate ganache and caremelised hazelnuts. For those who are fruitier inclined, we’ve launched our warming ginger and poached pear take on the quintessential British crumble, all stuffed into a delicious pot and garnished with honey custard – of course!
Our drinks menu has welcomed some new boozy stars such as a grapefruit and nectarine enlivened Australian Yering Station Chardonnay, an Italian spicy black cherry infused Passimento Pasqua alongside some new fantastic organic brews. A favourite is the new low alcohol Pogo: a 2.4%, light blonde hops with added natural tropical fruit flavouring.
To boost the immune system and keep that cold at bay we have all our usual juice and smoothie suspects available alongside newbies such as an autumnal lemonade with additions of English pear and lemon and a Brambly Hedge: a fresh pear, granny smith and blackberry concoction.
As the cold descends, the hot drinks flow and with this we announce the addition of MORK: a hot chocolate blend from Melbourne which is dairy and refined sugar free. To add to the “keeping it healthy” vibe, all our Brew Cafe’s now serve almond milk and soya milk as alternatives to dairy. Sweeten up your daily coffee with our local Wimbledon honey which can also be brought on site.
All of your favourite Brew Cafe dishes will still be available as well as our recently renovated pizza menu. For more information and to glance at all the glorious deliciousness check out our menu’s at www.brew-cafe.com/menu-2
